DIOCESAN PUBLICATIONS WIN NATIONAL PRESS AWARDS

Faith magazine and Faithlife newspaper of the Diocese of Erie captured six awards this month at the Catholic Press Awards held in Wisconsin.
The Catholic Press Association presents awards every year to recognize outstanding work by journalists from across the U.S. and Canada.
This year’s winners are:
Second Place Awards
- Best Photograph/Photo Illustration—“Midnight Mass at St. Hermenegild” by Melinda Isachsen, Faith magazine
- Best Reporting of Social Justice Issues: Dignity and Rights of the Workers (newspaper division)—“Autistic students get ‘safety net’” by Mary Solberg, FaithLife newspaper
Third Place Awards
- Best Front Page Broadsheet—Mary Solberg, Rich Papalia, FaithLife newspaper
- Best Reporting of Social Justice Issues: Life and Dignity of the Human Person (magazine division)—“Leroy finally found a family” by Anne-Marie Welsh, Faith magazine
- Best Reporting of Social Justice Issues: Call to Family, Community and Participation (magazine division)—“Be God’s hands and feet” by Abby Badach-Doyle, Faith magazine
Honorable Mention
